Peter Venkman has a PhD in both psychology and parapsychology, but his funny and flippant behavior makes it hard for most people to take him seriously as a scientist- especially after getting slimed! He is more street smart than Egon and Ray put together and he and Winston were able to sweet talk the mayor into allowing the team to be released from arrest and return their equipment to save NYC - and no one steps on a church in his town!
