Foothill Mercantile's 50th Anniversary!

How very exciting it is to have been in business in this community for 50 years! You, the community, have made this possible for us. While we have given back to the community over these many years, we'd like to celebrate this occasion by hearing your stories, sharing ours, give out some truly fabulous prizes - one is valued at $500- and a store wide sale. This is the landing page for all the information!

Memory Lane. We would love to hear about your stories and memories about the store over the years! Did you or your kids have a nickname for the store? Some nicknames we have heard are "The train store", or "The sticker store", or "The stuffed animal place". We wouldn't mind seeing photos as well!

Your stories mean so much for us to hear, and if you are willing to allow us to share online - website and/or social media- please let us know! We can also ask that we redact any personal information before sharing online.

We will not share any personal stories, memories, or information publicly unless you have given us clear permission to do so.

A history window that will display a timeline about the store's history - you will get to see images of our beginnings as a Hardware Store and the evolution to what we are now! Check out the engineering plans for the mezzanine (toy department), hardware, fishing supplies, old toys, and other artifacts! It will also be our ISpy window! You can also look at the history timeline that lives on our website here.

A raffle for a $50 gift certificate to Foothill Mercantile. Our usual ISpy window will be taken up notch just for this special occasion! Starting on August 11th, our history window display will have a hidden object to find and once you spot it, come inside to tell us where you found it, and you can fill out a raffle slip to be entered into the raffle for a $50 gift certificate in honor of our 50 years! The last day to enter is September 20th. The winner will be drawn on September 21st. Participants need not be present to win. Winner will be contacted directly and announced on social media. There is no cost to enter the ISpy window raffle!

A raffle for a $500 gift certificate to Foothill Mercantile - our "Golden Anniversary Raffle". Yes, $500!

Rules for the Golden Anniversary Raffle:

1. Spend a total of $50 (before taxes) during the date range of August 11th, 2026 through September 20th, 2026 to be eligible for the raffle drawing. Place your original receipt in the envelope that we provide, and give it to one of our employees

2. For a single purchase of $50 (before taxes) or more within the date range of August 11th, 2026 and September 20th, 2026, the raffle may be entered immediately

3. The $50 amount can be cumulative; that is, smaller purchases may be made and when they total $50 or more (before taxes), then you can bring us the original copies of your receipts and place them in the envelope we provide. Important information regarding the receipts:
- Original copies of receipts are defined as receipts printed from our registers. At time of
purchase two receipts can be printed so participants can have one for entry, and one for
their own records
- We cannot accept photocopies or photos of receipts
- Receipts must be kept by the participant until time of submission
- Receipts must be dated in the date range of August 11th, 2026 to September 20th, 2026

4. Participants may enter as many times as they wish. Every $50 spent (before taxes) will allot participants one raffle entry

5. Purchases made over the phone or online count towards the $50

6. PURCHASE of a gift certificate DOES count towards the $50

7. USE of a gift certificate or store credit does NOT count towards the $50

8. Sale items count towards the $50 at the sale price before taxes. For example: an item is $80 full price, but is on sale for 50% off, which brings the item’s price to $40, and the $40 counts towards the $50.

Drawing will be held Monday, September 21st, 2026. Participants need not be present to win. Winner will be contacted directly and announced on social media
